Another bandh called, schools declare holiday on fFriday
There seems to be no end to the woes of school students in the new academic year on account of frequent bandh calls being given by various students’ organisations. Several schools declared a holiday on Friday due to a bandh call given by the Progressive Democratic Students’ Union demanding government to bring a legislation to regulate fees in private schools besides implementing 25 per cent quota for poor students in private schools as mandated by the Right to Education Act. Schools were forced to declare holidays for two days in June due to bandh calls given by AISF and ABVP over the same demands. Schools have already lost three working days within three weeks of the commencement of the new academic year on June 12.
