Baby falls to death from flat’s balcony

A one-year-old boy succumbed a few hours after he fell from the second floor of a residential building on Saturday night at Gaouthamnagar in Malkajgiri.

The victim, Master Janardan, son of Mr Seshadri, slipped and fell from the balcony while his mother was feeding him, Malkajgiri police said.

Head Constable Mallaiah said the boy’s mother Deepika was feeding him when the accident occurred.

“The boy was playing in the balcony while his mother was feeding him. Suddenly he slipped from the edge of the floor, and fell down.

His mother couldn’t catch him as she was a little away,” Mallaiah said.
Janardan was rushed to hospital. However, by midnight he succumbed. to his injuries, police said.

Malkajgiri police have booked a case under CrPc 174 for suspicious death and started an investigation.
