Boy drowns in water pit
A 4-year-old boy was found drowned in a water pit at Nizampet on Wednesday night. The boy is believed to have fallen into it while playing. The victim, B. Jaswant, son of B. Yellesh, a resident of Rajeev Graha Kalpa, was playing near his home when the accident occurred, police said. The incident came to light when Jaswant’s parents found him in the pit after a long search on Wednesday night. Though his parents rushed him to the nearest hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said the kid had gone out from his home to play on Wednesday evening when his parents were busy. “He fell into the water pit which was made for construction purpose. Since it had rained heavily earlier, the pit was full of water,” Kukatpally Housing Board area Sub Inspector T. Srisailam Naik said. The child’s body was handed over to his family after conducting postmortem at the Gandhi Hospital.
