Bus falls into Musi at Suryapet, 1 dead, 30 injured
Within a few days of 29 people dying in a bus accident, one person died and around 30 were injured on Wednesday when an RTC bus fell off a bridge near Suryapet in Nalgonda district. The incident took place at around 3 pm when the RTC bus (AP106388) carrying more than 50 passengers was traveling from Suryapet to Miryalguda. As the bus reached the bridge near Suryapet, the driver, S.K Majeed, swerved to avoid it. He lost control of the speeding bus which went over the left side of the bridge into the Musi river.
In the accident one person, Nagaraj Reddy, 50, died and four others were seriously injured. Another 26 suffered minor injuries. Twenty-five students of Sai Gowthami College were going home on the bus and they luckily escaped without a scratch. The police has registered a case of negligent driving against the driver who was also injured and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
