Case booked against Genelia

The Saifabad police on Monday registered a case against actor Genelia and five others following the directions of Nampally court. The police issued an FIR against them under various Sections including Section 120(b) (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. The court direction came based on a complaint filed by one Tirupa-iah, a pensioner, that Anjaniputra Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. and its directors had cheated him.

The complainant stated that he had purchased two plots from the company by paying Rs 54 lakh, but it later closed shop. According to the complainant about 500 people had purchased plots from the company. He estimated the loss to buyers at Rs 250 crore.
