CBI digs up Jagan, Ramky link in third chargesheet
The CBI on Monday filed a third chargesheet in the Jagan Mohan Reddy assets case, alleging that the YSR government had reduced the green belt in the Ramky Pharma City in Visakhapatnam to benefit the promoter to the tune of Rs 133.74 crore worth of land. In return, the CBI stated that Ramky invested Rs 10 crore in Jagati Publica-tions owned by YSR’s son, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The chargesheet was filed in the court of the first additional special judge for CBI cases at Gaganvihar on Monday. It names Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy and Jagati Publications Ltd. represented by him, his auditor Vijay Sai Reddy, Ramky group chairman A. Ayodhya Rami Reddy, Mr G. Venkatram Reddy, then vice-chairman of the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority and currently collector, Srikakulam, and Ramky Pharma City Pvt. Ltd. The chargesheet alleges that Ramky Pharma City got an additional 58.9 acres of green belt land due to the decision taken by Rajasekhar Reddy, on top of the 914 acres allotted to it. Ramky Pharma City (India) Ltd (RPCIL) is a joint venture company of APIIC set up for bulk drug and pharma companies.
Collector clarifies on land to Ramky
After the CBI filed a third chargesheet in the YSR Co-ngress supremo Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy case, naming Srikakulam collector G. Venkatram Reddy as Accused No. 5 on Monday, the latter said the allocation of land for Ramki Pharma City was done as per the norms of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.
It is learnt that 2,143 acres of land of the Visakha Urban Development Authority was allocated to Ramki Pharmaceuticals in Paravada’s Special Economic Zone in Vizag district during Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime as chief minister.
Speaking to newsmen, Mr Venkatram Reddy explained that the firm had proposed to VUDA that the land be acquired during the tenure of the TDP under N. Chandrababu Naidu. However, the land proposal was cleared by the YSR cabinet so that VUDA allotted as per norms of the APIIC. “Since the CBI has filed a chargesheet, naming me as A-5, I will be cooperative with the agency for further investigation,” Mr Venkatram Reddy added.
