CBI grills Sabita on Penna order
Officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation quietly visited the residence of home minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy at Srinagar Colony on Thursday evening and questioned her for two hours regarding the controversial GO note files signed by her favouring Penna Cements.
The CBI will also be questioning the then minister for irrigation, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, regarding irrigation contracts that were awarded when YSR was the chief minister, sources said.
The ongoing CBI investigations into the assets of YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy found that his father YSR had transferred the mining lease from Walchand Tandur Cement Company to Penna Tandur Cement, owned by Mr P. Pratap Reddy, even though objections had been raised by some officials and Ms Sabita Reddy.
YSR wrote on the note file overruling the objections and clearly instructed in writing to issue the orders.
