China frees Raheja for father’s rites
Deepak Raheja, one of the Indian traders who had been stranded in China for the last eight months, finally reached home after the Chinese government allowed him to visit his family after his father’s death last month. The other businessman, Shyamsundar Agarwal of Mumbai is, however, still in China.
Immediately after reaching home, Mr Raheja and his family went to Nasik, Maharashtra, to complete the final rites of his father Bhagwan Das Raheja, 72, who died on July 14 due to depression. “Though I’m home, I’m not feeling better. It’s for a short period and I have no idea how I’ll leave my mother who’s in a state of depre-ssion,” Mr Raheja said.
