City student wins $1,00,000 U.S. scholarship
Exploring options outside the routine, a city student has won a $1,00,000 global scholarship from the University of Cincinnati. According to information, Anurag Gogineni will receive a full tuition scholarship of $25,000, renewable for four years, to pursue his Bachelors’ degree at UC, which starts this month.
A student of Jubilee Hills Public School till Class X, Gogineni switched to FIITJEE-Hyderabad thereafter. “(But) at FIITJEE, I realised I was not interested in engineering and started to look out for other subjects that appealed to me. Business Studies was my favourite,” he said. Thanking his teachers for letting him diversify into extracurricular activities, including “quizzing and spelling bees”, Gogineni said: “The college board sent my scores to various colleges and some of them responded, UC being one of them.” On future plans, Gogineni said, “I plan to study Finance and would like to become an investment banker.”
