City youth dies in Durban accident, cousin injured

An engineering student from the city was killed in a road mishap in Durban in South Africa and his cousin was injured. Both the youngsters were on their way to the Durban airport to catch a flight to Hyderabad after a holiday with family.

The deceased has been identified as V. Sairam Reddy, 19, son of V. Srinivas Reddy a resident of Sainikpuri. Sairam is a B.Tech student of CVR Engineering College. Mr Srinivas Reddy owns several schools and functional halls in the city. Sairam’s paternal uncle V. Madhan Mohan Reddy said, “The accident took place on July 19 in Durban. The speeding taxi had overturned. While all other family members were travelling by a bus, Sairam and his cousin Sandeep took the cab. Sairam died in the hospital on July 21. Sandeep is still undergoing treatment in Durban.”
