Civic bodies reek of corruption, finds city survey
According to a survey, citizens think that the municipality and the police are the most corrupt departments.
The survey conducted in the city by the Centre for Media Studies on the corruption perception index revealed that 86 per cent of the respondents perceived that corruption had increased in the municipal department in the last year, while 65 per cent had actually experienced it.
For the cops, 84 per cent thought that the department had become more corrupt, while 78 per cent had experienced it.
CMS general manager Anita Medasani said, “The CMS-India Corruption Study 2012 is the eighth round of study on corruption in public services in nine cities including Hyderabad.”
