Class X girl ends life before SSC result announcement

Afraid that she might fail in the SSC exam, the results for which were announced on Thursday, a Class X student of Mahbubia School, Abids, committed suicide at Saidabad. Police said the victim, a resident of Sringareni Colony, Saidabad, ended her life just a few minutes before the results were declared. However, when the results were out, the grieving family discovered that the victim had passed the exam with a ‘C’ grade, police said.

The incident came to light when the victim’s mother returned home after visiting a neighbour at about 11 am. As she entered the living room, she saw the body of her daughter hanging from the ceiling, police said. According to the police, the young girl was anxious about the upcoming results. “While her mother was out, the girl ended her life just a few minutes before the results were announced,” said Vishnuvardan Reddy, sub-inspector of police, Saidabad.
