CM calls on PM, seeks Rs 1,028cr for global meet

Chief Minister Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday urged the Centre to sanction Rs 1,028 crore as a special grant to prepare the city for the international biodiversity conference.

The Chief Minister called on Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi and briefed him about the state’s preparations for the prestigious event.

Referring to the Centre allotting special funds to the Delhi state government, before the Commonwealth Games, Mr Reddy said the state should be provided financial assistance to beautify the city and conduct the event smoothly, without any hiccups.

According to a CMO press release, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy also sought an additional allocation of Rs 3,000 crore for drought relief.
