Court allows Jagan, Mopi to vote
The CBI special court has allowed Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana to cast their votes in the Presidential polls. The court issued an order on Tuesday to the Chanchalaguda jail superintendent, DGP and the police commissioner to provide both men with a proper escort and take them for voting to the AP Legislative Assembly on July 19.
The court ordered the officials to take them back to Chanchalaguda jail immediately after they cast their votes. The prosecution had said it had no objection to allowing the two men to go for the voting provided they did not meet or talk to anyone. “There are no witnesses among the politicians. The CBI's claim is not correct,” said Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s lawyer Ashok Reddy. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy will be taken in a bullet-proof car from the Chanchalaguda jail to the Legislative Assembly followed by an escort provided by the city armed reserve and intelligence security wing.
