Court lets CBI correct errors
The city civil court on Monday returned petitions filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation seeking permission for attachment of properties of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s companies, and asked for certain rectifications.
The CBI filed the petitions to seek attachment of properties of Jagati Publications, Janani Infrastructure, Indira Television, and also the attachment of properties of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s aide Sunil Reddy and Koneru Prasad of the Trimex group in the Emaar scam case. The petition was filed in compliance with the three Government Orders issued by the state government for the purpose. The judge had several objections to the petition and asked for these to be rectified.
CBI gets a week to rectify flaws
The objections of the city civil court to the petitions filed by the CBI for attachment of properties of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s firms were: There is no schedule of the properties which are to be attached. Properties are spread over various districts so there needs to be clarity if the court can hear those cases. The owners of the properties need to be named. The owners are not specified and just mentioned as benamis. There is no clarity about the properties which can also be under mortgage. Details have not been furnished. CBI counsel said that they will apply again within a week with the necessary corrections made.
