Cyberabad cops enter UN mode
The Cyberabad police will henceforth follow high-end security procedures used by the United Nations Department of Safety and Security like testing air, water and food samples collected from venue and from hotels for toxicity and radioactivity for all national and international conferences.
Sources in Cyberabad police said that the officials of the Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear threat team used to test water, food and the air quality at the CoP-11 venue and in the hotels daily.
The Cyberabad cops, who provided security for the CoP-11, got a pat from the UN security officials.
The UNDSS told officials of the convention that the outer security cover provided by Cyberabad police was on par with those in Western countries.
During the conference, Cyberabad police commissioner Ch. D. Tirumala Rao had refused to take a red permit pass offered by the UNDSS, stating that other cops might seek similar passes.
“At the airport when UNDSS officials came to the city, their weapons were detained by the security and customs officials and released only a few days before the conference.Despite these odds, UNDSS expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements,” said a Cyberabad police commissionerate official.
