Danam pulled up for fee comments
The labour minister, Mr Danam Nagender, was pulled up by the PCC chief, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, on Thursday for his comments against the government over fee reimbursement to students belonging to the BC communities. When the minister reached Gandhi Bhavan in the morning to attend a party function, the PCC chief took the opportunity to pull up Mr Nagender. “How can you comment against government on fee reimbursement without verifying the facts with the concerned ministers and the Chief Minister? Your comments created unnecessary controversy and the Opposition got an opportunity to attack us,” Mr Satyanarayana told him.
Explaining the reasons for his outburst on the issue of fee reimbursement especially for the BC students, the labour minister said he had tried to reach the concerned minister Pitani Satyanarayana over phone twice, but the Minister did not respond to his call. For this the PCC chief told him he could have tried for any other minister in the Cabinet sub-committee or at least for him (Botsa) since he was also a member in the panel. He found fault with the minister for rushing to media criticising their own government in public. He also told him that government has not so far taken any decision with regard to the issue.
