Danam stalls posting of cop in city

Minister for labour Danam Nagendar has intervened to stop police transfers in the city. He has stopped the posting of S. P. Sridhar to Banjara Hills from Trimulgherry, alleging that he was not consulted. The in-charge commissioner of police Anurag Sharma recently transferred 14 inspectors of police in the city.

Sources said that Mr Danam Nagendar is actually unhappy that M. Sudarshan is being moved out of Banjara Hills and has thus put pressure on the police brass to stay the posting of Mr Sridhar to that post.
Ministers have often interfered in police postings. The postings of ACPs of Gopalapuram, Abids, Gosham-ahal and Banjara Hills turned controversial when ministers opposed them.
