Dharmana feels CBI heat on Vanpic GOs
It was a day-long grilling for roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao on Friday, as the CBI questioned him in the on-going probe into the assets’ case of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy disproportionate assets case.
Mr Prasada Rao was revenue minister in the YSR Cabinet. The CBI questioned him regarding favours done to the Vanpic project of Nimmagadda Prasad, Penna Cements and Raghuram Cements, which invested in companies owned by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The CBI asked questions pertaining to irregularities in land allotments and other favours allegedly received by Mr Prasada Rao in exchange for investing in Mr Jagan Mohan’s firms. Mr Prasada Rao, who was called in the morning, was let out for two hours for lunch in the afternoon. The second session continued till 10 pm. He said the CBI sought clarifications “regarding the government orders like in the Vanpic project. They have issued summons to which I responded and came here. As a minister, when asked by them I need to clarify”.
