DL is jobless, says CM
Terming the recent comments by his Cabinet colleague D.L. Ravindra Reddy as “meaningless”, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday said that the health minister does not have any “constructive work” to do, other than criticising others.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy was speaking to reporters during a brief halt at the Vizag airport on Sunday, while on the way to Srikakulam to take part in bypoll campaign. The Chief Minister said, “There is need to take those (Dr Ravindra Reddy’s) comments seriously.” He exuded confidence that the Congress would win all the 18 seats going for byelections on June 12. Answering a query, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said, “Bypoll results would decide the fate and future prospects of the Congressmen in the state.”
The Chief Minister also sounded positive on early completion of the much sought-after Polavaram irrigation project. “We will, very soon, initiate consultations and talks with the governments of states like Odisha and Chhattisgarh that are raising objections over the project. We are committed to resolve all the issues with other states as early as possible and complete the Polavaram project soon,” Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said.
Later, launching his bypoll campaign in the state, the Chief Minister blamed YSR Congress supremo Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for byelections in 18 constituencies and also came down heavily on the Kadapa MP's role behind the No-Confidence Motion in the state Assembly. Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy expressed confidence of fruitful results in Narasa-nnapeta bypoll as the campaign was launched from Srikakulam, where Rachchabanda was successfully started in 2011.
“The bypolls were the consequence of the political game of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu and Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao. They were always in the forefront to disturb the healthy political environment in the state,” the Chief Minister said.
