Ex-MLA’s wife seeks SHRC help, alleges abuse
A 42-year-old woman has approached the State Human Rights Commission, alleging police apathy in registering her complaint. K.M.J.D. Syama Sundari, a High Court advocate, who married former Metpally MLA Komireddi Ramulu with the consent of the latter’s first wife about 16 years ago, told the commission that she was forced to approach them for help as the ex-MLA and his family were harassing her and the police was refusing to admit her complaints.
She said she was going through untold sufferings, having been at the receiving end of ridicule and obscene comments from the ex-MLA’s sons and physical attacks as well, besides having damage done to her reputation by her husband’s relatives. She had also been prohibited entry into the flat in Mount Nasir Apartments, Saifabad. Admitting the complaint, Commission member (Non-Judicial) K. Peda Peri Reddy directed Central Zone DCP and ACP to submit a detailed report by August 1.
