Fair CISF officer returns money worth Rs 2.5l

The Central Industrial Security Force posted at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is constantly scripting new tales of honesty, a commodity rare these days, especially when tempting goodies are being offered on a platter! Here’s the latest instance. On April 28, a CISF official returned foreign currency in dollars worth more than Rs 2.5 lakhs, along with other assets, belonging to a passenger. In keeping with their usual discreet methods, the CISF officials did not disclose the name of the upright staff member.
Sources revealed that one P.N. Sarvan Kumar, who arrived here at RGIA on an Emirates flight, EK-526 yesterday, left behind his pouch containing 49 notes, each of 100 dollar denominations. The same, converted into Indian currency, amounted to about Rs 2.57 lakhs. His pouch also contained his passport, air ticket etc, because of which his identity and contact details could be ascertained. The CISF official located this small bag at the International Service Road. It has been handed over to the Lost and Found Cell set up at the airport by GMR, as per the rules.
Earlier, on April 12, CISF constable D. Ramesh on duty at RGIA had returned a bag containing nearly 19,500 UAE dirhams, in addition to Indian currency and other valuables with a net worth of nearly Rs 3 lakh. The bag belonged to one Gunjan Samthalia, a passenger, who, while boarding the Dubai-bound flight EK 527, had forgotten his bag at the airport complex.
