Fire breaks out at hotel in Abids, no casualties
A fire broke out in a hotel building at Chirag Ali Lane, Abids, on Tuesday. The entire fourth floor of SG Comforts Hotel was gutted. However, no causality has been reported as the hotel was evacuated immediately after the fire broke out. According to Gopal Das Agarwal, the hotel owner, the fire caused a damage of `30 lakh.
The police suspects that the a short-circuit in the house-keeping section of the hotel started the fire. According to the officials, the fire control room received a call at 12.06 pm. Soon a fire tender from Gowliguda rushed to the spot, and two others from Musheerabad and Secretariat joined it. Later, a snorkel from Secunderabad also joined the operation. District fire officer Kaja Kareemuddin said the blaze was brought under control in two hours. He added that the fire didn’t spread to other floors or adjacent buildings. According to the police, the fire broke out in the house-keeping section where the linen caught fire. The hotel staff said the blaze spread to the adjacent rooms on the fourth floor. They said people were evacuated immediately.
