Fire scare at Kacheguda apartment, no casualty
A fire broke out in a newly constructed residential complex opposite the Jain temple, Kacheguda, triggering panic and chaos in the area on Saturday evening. More than a dozen people, including workers, were evacuated. No casualty was reported. The fire flared up at about 6.30 pm from a flat on the first floor of the four-storey Sai Krupa residential complex, where room furnishing work was going on. According to eyewitnesses, more than a dozen people were rescued from the complex. Seeing the smoke, residents of adjacent buildings panicked and came out of their houses.
P. Shravan Yadav, working with Bajaj Alliance Insurance, said he saw the smoke and immediately rushed to the spot and brought two children and women down. The blaze was doused within two hours by firefighters from Gowliguda. District fire officer Khaja Kareemuddin said a fire tender was dispatched immediately, followed by three others. “We suspect the cause of the fire to be an electrical short-circuit. But we can confirm this after the investigation. The losses incurred are yet to be ascertained,” he said.
