Gali aide Sriramulu grilled for 6 hours
Gali Janardhan Reddy’s close aide and confidant B. Sriramulu, independent MLA from Bellary, appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau for questioning on Tuesday. He was grilled for six hours by the ACB sleuths over his role in the cash-for-bail scam of the mining baron.
Mr Sriramulu reached ACB headquarters at 11 am on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Bellary MP J. Shantha. ACB had sent notices to Mr Sriramulu on August 17 summoning him for questioning. It is understood that Mr Sriramulu was grilled regarding the source of money that was given as bribe. His role came to light following the arrest of his nephew, MLA Suresh Babu. Earlier, Ravi Suryaprakash, a realtor, who was arrested for his involvement as mediator, had in his confessional statement stated that he met Sriramulu through Suresh to discuss the modus operandi.
