Gali’s plea for his vehicles, chopper put off
The special court for CBI cases posted Gali Janardhan Reddy’s plea to hand over his vehicles seized by the CBI to August 14 after evaluation reports have been submitted. The former Karnataka minister and his brother-in-law Srinivas Reddy had filed fresh petitions in the special CBI court on February 9 to return their seized chopper and cars.
The vehicles seized include Innova, Scorpio, Rolls Royce, BMW, Mahindra, Toyota and an helicopter. The luxury cars seized during the arrest of the accused have been handed over to the Bellary rural police station and are being guarded round-the-clock by two guards. They are parked in the residence of B.V. Srinivas Reddy. The helicopter is kept at the Jakkur airport in Bengaluru under the custody of Deccan Charters. The helicopter, Bell-407, was bought by Gali for `12 crore using a bank loan. The CBI objected to the release of the vehicles stating that he is likely to sell them to third parties.
