GHMC contractors to continue strike

Contractors will continue to stay away from executing any works related to CoP-11 on Sunday as the talks between the officials and GHMC Contractors’ Association members failed on Saturday. “We have no choice but to continue our strike. None of the contractors will resume CoP-11 related works. The officials failed to give an assurance to us that the executive engineer, Mohan Singh, will be placed under suspension. Neither did they assure us that he would be shifted from his present posting. The officials said that any such move could result in all the GHMC engineers launching a strike. A case under Section 324 of IPC has already been booked against Mohan Singh at Saifabad police station, and we will also proceed legally against him,” GHMC Contractors’ Association president Munawwar Hus-sain said. Contractors Association V-P M. Sure-nder Singh alleged GHMC executive engineer Mohan Singh was facing several allegations and had not been drawing his salary for several years now, which was implausible.
