Girl ends life after teacher ‘scolds’ her

An engineering student committed suicide by jumping from her college building on Saturday after she was allegedly scolded by a teacher.

The deceased, K. Mounika, 19, a resident of Sainikpuri, succumbed at a private hospital at ECIL Crossroads on Saturday evening.

Police said Mounika was a second year B.Tech Information Technology student of Geetanjali Engineering College, Keesara. According to police, she jumped from the building after her class was over.

“She jumped while her college mates were leaving the campus at 4 pm,” said Keesara sub-inspector Sideshwar.

A seriously injured Maunika was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a few minutes later.

Her family members alleged that she ended her life as she was scolded by one of her teachers named Padma Priya.
