Goan driver held with cocaine packs
The police has arrested a Goan who was carrying five grams of cocaine near the Qutub Shahi Tombs on Saturday. Police said the cocaine was brought from Goa to Hyderabad by the accused, Suresh Raghuveer Goankar, 46 who is a tourist bus driver from Mayem.
Additional inspector Khaleel Pasha said the cocaine was hidden inside a magazine in small packets. “As we got information, we stopped the bus near Seven Tombs. Five small sachets containing cocaine were pasted to the pages of a magazine named ‘Men of the year Awards 2012’,” Mr Pasha said.
Police said the cocaine was given by a person named Daniel Fernando alias Simha to the accused a day ago. “He was asked to hand over the stuff to another person who would be waiting for him at Golconda.”
The police has seized the bus and has handed over the accused to the Golconda police station for further actions.Police said that the accused tried to smuggle Cocaine as he couldn’t earn enough money from his present job. “He wanted to earn easy money from the smuggling. Thus he started carrying the Cocaine,” the Inspector said.
However, police are yet to find how many times Suresh had brought Cocaine to the city in the past.
Police have confiscated the bus and handed over the accused to Golconda police station for further actions.
