Gupta firm faces formal complaint
Officials of the Water Board will lodge a formal complaint with the Central Crime Station police on Tuesday, urging it to book criminal cases against DLF-SBPL Infrastructure Ltd, for duping the government.
The green signal for such a course of action was given by HMDA commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu during his review meeting on the status of revenues of HMDA and pending cases under the Layout Regulation Scheme and Building Regularisation Scheme.
“While DLF says it has not authorised anyone on its behalf to sign the lease agreement with HMDA, the documents with HMDA show DLF-SBPL as a subsidiary of DLF. It is not clear whether DLF or SBPL has duped the government. Neither DLF nor SBPL has been paying lease rental, which has accumulated to nearly Rs 8 crore now,” said the HMDA official. The move to lodge a complaint with the CCS comes three days after HMDA took back possession of 24.23 acres of prime land at Moosapet.
This land, worth Rs 300 crore, was given on lease to DLF-SBPL, allegedly owned by G.S. Gupta and others. The HMDA allotted the land to a Manoj Sharma of DLF-SBPL. It may be mentioned here that in the FIR registered with CCS police, Sharma is accused number 4. The 24.23 acres land was allotted to DLF-SBPL on August 12, 2008. But it took nearly two years to hand over the land and also make changes in land usage in the master plan. As per the agreement, the mega agricultural hub was to have an agricultural input complex, distribution centre, poultry and dairy input centre, farmer training centre, output and marketing centres.
