Heat wave to continue in T and coastal regions
The meteorological department has issued a heat wave warning in districts of Telangana and the coastal Andhra. Severe heat wave conditions will continue to prevail in East Godavari, Guntur, Krishna, West Godavari and Visakhapat-nam districts of the coastal Andhra and Khammam of Telangana during the next two days. Heat wave conditions will continue to prevail in Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Nizamabad of Telangana.
On Friday, the temperatures rose markedly in a few areas over coastal AP, including one or two places of Rayalaseema, but fell at one or two places in the Telangana region. They were appreciably above normal at one or two places over the remaining districts of the coastal Andhra and Telangana and normal over Rayalaseema. The highest temperature of 47 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kakinada, Re-ntachintala, Adilabad, and Khammam. Mr G. Sudhakar Rao, director, IMD, Hyderabad, said: “For the next two days, till July 4, isolated rain or thundershowers may occur over coastal AP. Rain or thundershowers would occur in parts of Hyderabad. Maxi-mum and minimum temperatures would be 42 & 28 degrees celsius respectively.”
Meanwhile, the arrival of the monsoon has been delayed by a few days. Instead of touching Kerala on June 1, it is now expected after three or four days. It will take another four or five days for the monsoon to reach AP.
