Hyd girl ends her life in Mumbai
An 18-year-old girl, who was pursuing her B.Com degree at the Indian Institute of Management and Commerce in Khairatabad, allegedly committed suicide on Thursday by hanging herself in a hotel room in Andheri, Mumbai.
The girl’s family had earlier registered a missing person’s case with the Jeedimetla police after the girl went missing on March 3. Her family thought the girl was out with friends and would return home soon.
The deceased was identified as Ranjala Kusuma Shrisambhavi according to the senior inspector of Vile Parle police station.
“Shrisambhavi was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room in Hotel Highway Residency by an employee on Thursday morning when he went to check if she was extending her stay,” said the inspector, adding, “Shrisambhavi had checked into the hotel on March 27, at around 1.30 pm, saying that she had come to Mumbai to attend an interview.”
“The reason for her taking the extreme step is not known. A suicide note found in the room was written in Hindi as well as in Telugu. She held nobody responsible for her death and stated that her body be handed over to her mother. The girl’s mother, R. Lalitha Prasuna, a retired irrigation department officer, and brother are on their way to Mumbai to claim her body,” said a senior police officer at the Vile Parle police station.
The cops have registered a case of death under mysterious circumstances and are trying to figure out what Shrisambhavi had done during the two days she was in Mumbai.
