Hyderabad to host two more meets: CM
Claiming to be a true Hyderabadi, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said the city was being  acclaimed by several dignitaries, including the Prime Minister, as the fastest growing city in the world and was likely to soon host some more prestigious international conventions.
The CM was speaking at the launch of Rajiv Sadbhavana yatra at the historic Charminar on Friday. He said the Prime Minister, who was in the city recently to attend the international biodiversity summit,  had agreed to set up National Institute of Design and National University of Life Sciences in the city.
Mr Reddy said it was heartening to note that Hyderabad city was being considered as a preferred venue for holding international  conferences.
The CM said that soon the city would be the venue for two more international summits, the World Allergy Congress and World Agriculture Congress in  December 2012 and November 2013, respectively.
The CM said no city in India has constructed 158 km length Outer Ring Road which was built at a cost of Rs 6,800 crore. Hyderabad has earned international fame due to its cultural diversity and for maintaining communal harmony.
Talking on the occasion at the historic Old City, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy announced plans for constructing housing for the urban poor on 100 acres of land exclusively for the old city.
PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana,  Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, former MP Dr K. Kesava  Rao along with Chief Minister presented the Rajiv Sadbhavana  Award to veteran journalist Potturi Venkateswara Rao.
