Inter board to start course for civils exam
After producing national-level toppers in IIT-JEE, AIEEE and other competitive exams with its course combinations in the Inter syllabus, the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) is now targeting UPSC’s civil services exam. The Board has decided to introduce a new course combination: History, Geography and Public Administration (HSP), from this year with the sole aim of preparing students to crack the civil services exam right from the 10+2 level.
Normally, students prepare for the Civil Services exam after graduation and select course combinations at the degree level to suit their optional subjects. However, the trend changed with the entry of corporate junior colleges into Civil Services coaching last year. These colleges launched six-year integrated course for Civil Service aspirants right from the 10+2 level. Perceiving a huge demand, the Board has decided to launch the new course combination that will help students prepare for civil services from the 10+2 level.
