Jagan’s custody ends
Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Red-dy was questioned as a witness in the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy assets case on Wednesday. The CBI recorded his statement regarding Janani Infra-structure which owns all the properties of Sakshi. The prime accused in the case, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was grilled for the fourth consecutive day by the CBI on Wednesday. He returned to Chanchalguda jail in the evening, where he has been lodged during his five-day police custody that ends on Thursday.
The CBI may file a petition for extension of his police custody. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s auditor Vijay Sai Reddy was also questioned by the CBI.
Meanwhile, there were rumours about the role of MBS jewellers owner Sukesh Gupta too in the case. When contacted, a representative of the firm, who did not want to be named, said, “The reports on links with Jagan are false and baseless. Only the then chief minister, YSR had inaugurated the showroom and Sukesh happens to be a classmate of Jagan. There is no other relation with Jagan and he has no stakes in MBS.”
Ponnala to appear in CBI’s Koti office
IT minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah will appear before the CBI at its office in Koti on Thursday for questioning in the Jagan Mohan Reddy illegal investments case. He would be appearing before the CBI for the first time. He used to hold the irrigation portfolio in the YSR regime. CBI also asked former irrigation secretary Aditya Nath Das to appear before it on Thursday. He will be questioned along with the minister.
