Jagan withdraws bail plea from Supreme Court
Hours after the Supreme Court dismissed the petition of YSR Congress MLA Y.S. Vijayalakshmi for CBI probe against Telugu Desam supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu into his assets, her son and party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy withdrew his petition for bail in the illegal investments cases he himself is facing. Senior advocate Ram Jethmalani, appearing for Mr Reddy, made a request for withdrawing the petition soon after the lunch break before a Bench of Justices T.S. Thakur and F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla, that had earlier rejected Ms Vijayalakshmi’s petition. Mr Jethmalani's request came even before the petition's turn could come up for hearing as it was the second last case listed before the Bench. He stated that he wanted to withdraw the petition to add certain new facts in it and sought court’s liberty to file it again.
