Jammu cops look for city industrialists

A team of the Jammu and Kashmir police arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday looking for top city-based industrialists G.S.P. Veera Reddy and G. Veera Shekar Reddy in connection with a case of cheating lodged in Jammu.

GVPR Engineering Ltd, where the two are top executives, is facing the allegations of swindling `8.4 crore. While G.S.P. Veera Reddy is the MD of the company, Veera Shekar Reddy is its director.

The police said representatives of a sub-contractor, Cube Construction Engineering, had filed a complaint against GVPR Engineering and its promoters in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Jammu. The Gandhinagar police, registered an FIR on March 1 in a case of cheating, criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.

On Saturday, the visiting cops, along with local police, went to the duo’s house in Road No. 9, Jubilee Hills. But the duo could not be found. The authorities at the company’s Hyderabad and Delhi offices were not available to comment on the case.
