Junior doctors call off strike

The junior doctors called off their state-wide strike on Thursday after the government agreed to post doctors in rural areas systematically, and through counselling in a transparent manner. The government also agreed to hold detailed discussions with the doctors, Dr Aditya, a PG doctor from Osmania General Hospital, said. The junior doctors accused the government of not implementing the bipartisan agreement and said it had failed to issue clear guidelines on postings in rural areas.
