KCR agreed to city as UT: Lagadapati
Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Thursday called upon the Central government to declare categorically that Andhra Pradesh cannot be divided. Addressing the press at his residence here after meeting the Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde along with minister T.G. Venkatesh, MLA Shajahan and MLCs Sudhakar Babu and Chengal Raidu he said that the TRS chief had offered to forgo Hyderabad in the proposed Telangana state.
Refusing to reveal what Mr Shinde told him, the MP said the Union home minister said several times that the UPA would not move on the issue without a consensus. Meanwhile, the TRS on Thursday said there was no compromise on the demand for separate Telangana with Hyderabad as capital. The party strongly condemned Mr Lagadapati’s claim that Mr Chandra-sekhar Rao agreed to make Hyderabad a Union Territory. TRS MLA, Mr K.T. Rama Rao, who was in Delhi said the Centre would take a positive decision on Telangana.
