KCR lures TD MLA over lunch meet
Senior Telugu Desam leader and Parigi MLA Koppula Harishwar Reddy is set to join TRS on November 15.
Mr Harishwar Reddy and another senior party MLA from Adilabad Samudrala Venugopala Chary were suspended a few months ago for “anti-party activities”.
TRS chief K. Chand-rasekhar Rao had a luncheon meeting with Mr Hari-shwar Reddy at the latter’s residence on Tuesday.
As the two emerged together, Mr Rao told the waiting media persons that he invited Mr Har-ishwar Reddy to join the TRS to expand the party’s base to all parts of the Te-langana region, and he readily agreed. Mr Hari-shwar Reddy confirmed the development.
Having begun their political career at about the same time, both leaders won their way to the Assembly for the first time in 1985, and both held the post of Deputy Spe-aker of the Assembly.
The TRS chief is expected to make a similar attempt to woo Mr Venugopala Chary in due course.
Both suspended TD legislators have of late been associated with the activities of Nagam Jan-ardhan Reddy, who had floated the Telangana Nagara Samiti but is now set to join the TRS.
