CBI officials said that the the third chargesheet filed in the Emaar-APIIC township case on Saturday was originally filed against 15 accused and with the deletion of Stylish Homes director Tummala Ranga Rao's name on Saturday, the charges were now framed against 14 people including IAS officials B.P. Acharya and L.V. Subrahmanyam. No new names have been added.
Regarding filmstar G. Krishna’s family, CBI DSP S.C. Giani said in the charge sheet that they had received undue favours.
Sources also said that a top politician’s name had cropped up in the Emaar and the CBI alleged that he had grabbed two-and-a-half acres from APIIC before the Emaar project had started. The CBI and APIIC sources, however, refused to identify him.
In the chargesheet, the CBI has asked the state government to get back the land from the politician and also to initiate necessary action against him.
The CBI, meanwhile, deleted the name of Ranga Rao from the as he had turned an approver, and was been made a witness.
Mr Ranga Rao was earlier an aide of Mr Koneru Prasad. The CBI has also recorded the statement of MGF MD Shravan Gupta's aide Dinesh Jain. The role of senior IAS officials B.P. Acharya and Mr Subrahmanyam was mentioned, and the CBI alleged that their actions caused a loss to APIIC and wrongful gains to the other accused in the case.
