Large turnout at DC Education Fair
Students and parents thronged the DC Education Fair, which began at the Nizam College Grounds on Saturday. The two-day event is being organised by the Deccan Chronicle. The fair featured 30 stalls, comprising universities and educational institutions in India and abroad, for overseas studies.
Students, parents and the public started streaming in large numbers soon after the fair was inaugurated by T. Vijay Reddy of the Deccan Chronicle. Several students visiting the stalls evinced interest in going abroad for pursuing their higher studies, while others opted for reputed management and engineering institutions in India owing to the “cost factor”. The MBBS and post MD programmes offered in the US attracted many students and parents, since the fee structure is around `20 lakh for the entire programme.
Prominent educational institutions from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru have established stalls at the DC Fair. Visitors appreciated the efforts of the Deccan Chronicle in guiding students to choose the right courses by conducting an education fair ahead of the crucial admissions at various institutions. “I was confused about which course to opt for when I came. However, all my doubts were cleared with the guidance provided by experts. I have decided to pursue a course in fashion and interior design,” said P. Rupali, who finished 10+2.
