Liquor prices to go up from Wednesday
With the government deciding to enhance the basic price to be paid to the manufacturers, liquor prices in the Andhra Pradesh are likely to go up from Wednesday.
Post the decision on Tuesday, the hike will be around 10 per cent for the cheap liquor category, nearly eight per cent for the category in which the basic price is between Rs 700 and Rs 1,000 per case.
Moreover, the hike will be in the region of seven per cent for category in which the basic price is above Rs 1,000 per case.
The hike follows an approval from Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and excise minister K. Parthasarathi.
Anticipating the hike, the Andhra Pradesh Beverages Corporation Limited has asked its depots not to supply to the retailers on Wednesday.
