Missing youthfound dead in gandipet lake
A B.Com student, who went missing three days ago, was found dead in Gandipet Lake on Sunday morning. Police suspect, the deceased, G. Sravan Kumar, 20, a resident of Virat Nagar Colony, Toli Chowki, committed suicide due to failure in romance.
Police said that Sravan had gone missing last Thursday. “On Sunday morning locals found a body in the lake and informed us. Later it was identified as Sravan,” Narsingi SI P. Anjaiah said. Police suspect that, Sravan, who was a second year B.Com second year student at Nava Chaitanya Junior College, Narayanguda, was in love, and was depressed as his parents had asked him to end the relationship.
“We found Sravan’s mobile phone, which was switched off and kept in his house. We found some messages that hinted about his love affair and that he was depressed about it,” Mr Anjaiah said.
“We suspect he committed suicide. However, we will investigate all angles of the case,” the police said.
Police said Sravan went missing when his mother was not at home. “His mother had gone for a family function at Bollaram, when Sravan left home. His family members lodged a missing complaint with Golconda police on Friday,” a police official said.
“We suspect he must have committed suicide, however we would investigate all the aspects of the case,” police said
The body was handed over to family members after Postmortem Examination from Osmainia General Hospital. Police have booked a case under CrPc section 174, and launched an investigation.
