MLA’s husband: Ella hotel staff threatened us
A day after the vice-president of Ella hotel was arrested for confining and torturing a woman employee, MLA Jayasudha’s husband Nitin Kapoor has alleged that the hotelier is so influential that the cops did not take action against him, despite having lodged a complaint against him.
The VP of the hotel “threatened to kill and rape our family when we objected to violation of rules. Following our complaint, the then Chanda-nagar inspector B. Surender Rao registered a case against him and the hotel’s F&B manager, but no action was taken,” Mr Kapoor alleged.
The Ella hotel extends into the compound of the residence of Ms Jaya-sudha. Mr Kapoor complained: “They used to play loud film music and have parties that went on until 1am. When we objected, the VP threatened to kill us.”
Madhapur DCP T. Yoganand said both Mr Kapoor and the hotel had disputes, as the hotel management, too, had given a complaint that Mr Kapoor drove his car into the hotel in a drunken state. But on verification it was found that Mr Kapoor’s case against the hotelier was closed in February 2012.
