Monsoon rains may hit state tomorrow
The south-west monsoon is expected to enter the state by June 12 and it is advancing inland. It would first enter the southern parts of Rayalaseema and from there advance towards the Telangana region in another four-five days. By June 20, it is likely to cover the entire state. Meteorologist S.V. Rao said, “The monsoon is advancing smoothly so far, and by June 12 the first showers are expected in the Rayalaseema region. Under its influence, day temperatures have come down in most districts and the city’s maximum temperature is now 37-380C.”
Heat waves now exist only in a few districts of coastal Andhra including Krishna and Guntur. In the next two-three days, day temperatures are likely to fall further in the city to around 350C. Hyderabad is expected to have its first showers by weekend,” he said.
