Mother held for son’s murder

The police arrested Pullamma, 53, and her paramour Sashivardhan Raju, 35, for the murder of her son Ganesh, 25, at Saidabad on Saturday. Ganesh, an autorickshaw driver, was found critically injured last week by the police and admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

The Saidabad police said that Ganesh had objected to his mother, a widow, having a relationship with Sashivardhan Raju and used to quarrel with them. Police said that the autorickshaw being driven by Ganesh was a hired one, and he never bothered to pay its rent and forced his mother to do it. On April 12, Ganesh quarrelled with Sashivardhan as usual and left home.

Later, Sashivardhan and Pullamma went to Saroornagar, where Ganesh used to ply his auto and brought him home. However, they again started to fight and Ganesh assaulted his mother. Pullamma and Sashivardhan attacked Ganesh and hit him with a wooden log. They then tied him and started for home. On the way they found Ganesh was dead and threw the body out.
