Naidu unfazed over reports of more exits
Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday appeared unfazed despite reports of more exits by leaders and MLAs on the T-letter issue.
Party sources said that couple of more leaders in Seemandhra region who had struck a "deal" with the YSR Congress and other parties, were likely to quit after Mr Naidu hits the road on his 117-day marathon padayatra from October 2.
“I really don't know why Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy has quit and two MLAs critical of the decision (T-letter). They were silent when we took the decision in 2008. I spoke to everyone in the party before taking the decision,” Mr Naidu said.
The TD chief said party gave political life to the leaders and they should have stood by the decision instead of quitting or threatening to quit.
“If some are gone, it will not affect the TD. I spoke to all in the party and took decision in the interests of the state and the TD. They should understand it,” he added.
Mr Naidu said party MLAs who were upset with the decision on letter to the PM should have spoken to him instead of airing their views in public.
