Nalgonda MLA’s kin murdered
D. Madhava Reddy, a relative of Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, was stabbed to death in Nalgonda town early on Sunday morning. The police suspect that a land dispute between the deceased and his relatives led to the murder. Madhava Reddy, 62, a retired assistant director of the electricity depar-tment, Nalgonda, was practising yoga at around 5 am when two people attacked him with knives.
Nalgonda C-I T. Manohar Reddy said the victim suffered multiple injuries on his face, neck and chest. “While Madhava Reddy was practicing yoga at the N.G. College ground two people armed with knives attacked him. After stabbing him repeatedly, the attackers fled the spot,” the inspector said.
In his complaint the victim’s son Narendra Reddy alleged that his relatives Sai Reddy, his sons Dhasharath Reddy, and Venkat Reddy were behind the murder. Narendra alleged that the attackers were trying to grab a seven acre plot from his father. Police said that there was a dispute between Madhava Reddy and Sai Reddy over land. Madhava Reddy is a distant cousin of MLA Komatireddy. The police has booked a murder case as per Section 302 and has launched investigations. However, the police has not yet arrested anyone so far.
