Narasimhan gets new term as governor
Mr E.S.L. Narasimhan was on Saturday appointed Andhra Pradesh Governor by President Pratibha Patil for a fresh term of five years. He will be sworn in by Chief Justice Madan B. Lokur on May 3 at 11 am at Raj Bhavan. The Union Cabinet had earlier recommended his appointment as Governor in view of the special situation existing in AP, and Mr Narasimhan’s understanding of the developments. “I will continue to discharge my duties as required by the Constitution. I will strive for an all-round development of the state in accordance with law,” Mr Narasimhan told this correspondent.
